Kuroko's Basketball Anime Gets 2nd Season
Wednesday, January 2, 2013 @ 12:18 PM  The Winter 2013 issue of Shueisha's Shonen Jump Next magazine is announcing on Friday that production on a second season of the Kuroko's Basketball anime has been green-lit. The first season based on Tadatoshi Fujimaki's manga ran from April to September of this year.

Once upon a time, the basketball team of Teikō Junior High School rose to distinction by demolishing all competition. The regulars of this team became known as the Generation of Miracles. After graduating from middle school, these five stars went to different high schools with top basketball teams. However, a fact few know is that there was another player of the Generation of Miracles, the phantom sixth player. This mysterious player is now a freshman at Seirin High, a new school with a powerful, if little-known, team. Now, Tetsuya Kuroko, the sixth member of the Generation of Miracles, and Kagami, a naturally talented player who spent most of middle school in America, are aiming to bring Seirin to the top of Japan, taking on Kuroko's old teammates one by one. |

He is determined to surpass "The Generation of Miracles" and become the number 1. Along with Kuroko, they're the only two freshmen allowed to play in matches. At the start of this manga, Kagami is shown to have a huge potential -- good build, height, skill in basketball -- but his strongest weapon is his inhuman jump.  The Perfect Copy

School: Kaijou High Position: Small Forward Jersey: 7 Height: 189 cm Weight: 70 kg Age: 16 Birthday: June 18th (Gemini) Now a freshman at Kaijou High, Kise was the rookie of the "Generation of Miracles". Since he only started playing basketball in his second year of middle school, Kise was his team's least experienced member, and notes himself the weakest of the five. Kise's unique skill is his ability to mimic the moves and plays of other players. Age: 16 Height: 6' 3" (195 cm) Weight: 174lbs (79 kg) Birthday: July 7th Blood Type: B Sign: Cancer Likes: Red bean soup, Oha-Asa Dislikes: Cats School: Shuutoku High School Position: Shooting Guard Special Ability: Shooting from anywhere on the court Formerly a member of the basketball team of Teikou Middle School, Shintarou is a member of the Generation of Miracles; during his time with Teikou, his jersey number was seven, switching to six as he joined Shūtoku's. He also served as a vice-captain under Akashi.  "Your light is too dim."
Aomine Daiki, Mine-chin, Aominecchi, Dai-chan, Ahomine
School: Touo Academy Age: 16 Height: 192 cm Weight: 85 kg Blood Type: B Birthday: 31st August Number: #5 Position: Power Forward Talent: Skill and Agility, Unusual Speed, Zone Play In his second year in middle school, Aomine inspired Kise to play basketball and he became his training partner. Kise was still a complete rookie, apart from his copying ability, and Aomine was obviously stronger than him, but Aomine kept training with Kise. He taught Kise a lot and became his mentor/idol. School: Yousen High Position: Center Jersey: 9 Height: 208 cm Weight: 95 kg Age: 16 Birthday: October 9th (Libra) Formerly playing center for Teikou Middle School's basketball team, he does the same now for Yosen High School. Beyond possessing shoulder-length, purple hair, Murasakibara is immediately recognizable for his great height, at least ten centimeters taller than any other currently revealed member of the Generation of Miracles. The everyday Murasakibara is childish and often teases people, but once he's on the court, his personality changes.  The Emperor
Akashi Seijuuro, Akashicchi, Aka-chin, Sei-chan
School: Rakuzan High Position: Point Guard Height: 173 cm Weight: 64 kg Age: 16 Birthday: December 20th (Sagittarius) The final member of the Generation of Miracles, he stood at their head as captain, leading their team to uncontested victory during the three years he played for Teikou Middle School. He is uninterested in winning, simply because victory in his eyes is an absolute given, requisite to his own life as much as breathing. |
